About Kirsten Anderson
I currently live in Rhode Island with my husband and our maroon-bellied conure, Leland (pictured). The different cockatiel color mutations and the genetics behind them have been of special interest to me since I got my first tiel over 15 years ago. Although I haven't kept or bred cockatiels recently, I have always had a spot in my heart for tiels and their sweet natures, and would probably get another cockatiel if it weren't for the demands of a certain conure.
I wrote the Virtual Breeder program and Cockatiel Color Palette web site as a final project while I was in the illustration program at Art Center College of Design, and have since spent five years fine-tuning the program and learning about the newer mutations. It's been a fun process, and I hope you enjoy the result.
